Storage has been a big issue for any Smartphone user around the world. Dealing with 32 GB or 64 GB storage becoming difficult to survive nowadays and when the ‘Storage Almost Full’ Notification popup then it becomes very frustrating. Many application fails to process. So, there are some tips to clear the Phone’s storage to save extra space.
Delete old files

When you go through your old documents and downloads you can see that there are so many documents and videos that are not useful so just get rid of them and save extra space in your smartphone.
Android
Go to Settings then Storage and there you will see different categories. Consider deleting things like Other, Miscellaneous files. Folders like Download have old files you no longer use. Tap and hold on to the folder to select and delete it. That will clear the Phone’s storage to save extra space.
iOS
Go to Settings then General then iPhone Storage then Review Large Attachments and where your files will be sorted from largest to smallest. Now just check which are the files you don’t need and delete them. This will help you to save extra space on your smartphone.
Clear cache

If you are facing problems like the slow working of apps or crashing, you have to clear the app’s cache to solve the basic issue. Clearing the app cache will erase unwanted files, but you won’t lose any of your app’s saved data or passwords. Through this trick, you will save extra space on your smartphone.
Android
Go to your device Settings then click apps then click on an often-used app, like Chrome then click on Storage then click on the Clear Cache icon in the bottom right corner. Your app’s cache will be cleared. This will help you to clear the Phone’s storage to save extra space.
iOS
Go to Settings then General then iPhone Storage, where you can see your apps listed in order of size. You can click on an app to see if there are options available to clear cache data. Your app’s cache will be cleared and will save extra space in your smartphone.
Delete unused apps and games

There are so many apps and games on your device that you don’t use anymore just delete them and free the storage in your device.
Android
Go to Settings, then Storage then taps Manage Storage. Then check which are the apps you don’t use anymore then press and hold on an app in the app drawer, then drag it up to the Uninstall link at the top.
iOS
Go to Settings, then General, then iPhone Storage. You can check which are the apps you don’t use anymore then press and hold on to the app until a box appears, then click on Remove App.
Back up your phone to cloud/drive

If you have so many old pictures or files that you don’t use anymore but want to store them just back up them to the cloud and delete those you don’t want locally on your phone.
Android
For Android users, consider Google Photos which can be set up to automatically back up photos and videos whenever your phone is connected to WiFi. To store full-resolution photos, you have to select Original as the image quality. Go to Settings then Back up & Sync then Upload size and choose Original. Google Photos has a Free Up Space feature that deletes photos you’ve already backed up to the drive.
iOS
For iPhone users, the process is automatic if you’ve enabled the iCloud automatic backup service. First Go to Settings then Apple ID then iCloud then Photos and toggle on iCloud Photos. Then choose Optimize iPhone Storage. This keeps a lower resolution version of your photos on your phone and full resolution in iCloud. Then go to Settings then Photos then Cellular Data and turn off Cellular Data and Unlimited Updates to ensure you don’t go over your data plan.
Back up your phone locally

If you don’t want to buy more storage on your cloud you can simply back up your files, images, videos locally on your pc, laptop, and Mac.
You can do this when you have access to your computer through a wired or wireless connection.
Android
For Android users just connect your phone to your computer via a USB cable. Your windows computer should detect your phone as a mass storage or media storage device, and you will be able to move your photos and videos from your phone to your computer. If you have a Mac, install the free Android File Transfer app on your Mac and then you can move your files to your Mac. This will save extra space in your smartphone.
iOS
For iPhone users who also have Mac, you can use iTunes, iPhoto, the Photos app, Image Capture app to save your media files to your Mac. You can also use AirDrop to transfer files without connecting your phone to your computer via USB cable.
If you use a Windows PC, you can use iTunes, the steps vary according to your version of Windows. It will clear the Phone’s storage to save extra space.
